I think you should make an appointment soon. I just had mine removed and it was embedded - it bled for a week but not very heavy. I had had mine in for 4 years with lots of complications. It may be normal to have such heavy bleeding, but it won't hurt you to check it out and know for sure. Get this, my OB tried to get me not to take mine out as well like it was offensive to her or something - and I had obvious complications. Good luck!
