Another Mirena warning . . .
My life has also been derailed by the Mirena IUD.
I had it in for six months before having it removed one month ago. Most of the horrible physical symptoms have lifted (chest pain, heart palpitations, migraine headaches, nausea, 3 month long upper respiratory infection, EXTREME fatigue, flu-like achiness, numbness in my right arm and leg, crazy anger) but now I am having anxiety/panic attacks. I am bipolar but have been stable for the past 4 years, little ups and downs, but I haven't felt anything like this in so long and it is scary! I will just be out w/friends or shopping or riding in a car or whatever . . . and here it comes! Worry, worry, worry, scared, feel like I need to run away from something. Anyway, just wanted to add another story for the record books. Also, every doctor I've been to doesn't relate these symptoms to the Mirena and that is where my major problem lies. I understand that not every woman will have these severe of side-effects, but even the possibility should be addressed before the decision is made and we shouldn't have to go to numerous doctors trying to find our old selves before we finally jump on the internet in desperation and find these wonderful groups of women sharing and gaining strength from each other. Thanks everybody. And one last thing, I have read about people bleeding a lot after removal, but I haven't had a period yet in a month and I took a pregnancy test that was negative??? Anyone identify?
