Bartholin Cyst

Hello, I currently have a Bartholin Cyst. This is the third time, I have had two of the cyst drained and the third one is to small to drain so I have been doing the soaking process but no change. My Dr. suggest I have the gland removed. Does anyone one know of any other ideas to help me avoid surgery. My concern about surgery is that I belive that gland is there for a reason. I would hate to have it removed and cause more problems in the future. Any information will be helpful.
