blood when wiping???

The past 3 days I've had spots of blood on the tissue when I wipe my urine. I've also had a soreness/dull pain on and off on my left/front side, under my ribcage for over a week now. I went to my GYN, he thinks my soreness is from ovulating a few days ago, and he said I had no WBC in my urine but I did have bacteria, so, I'm taking cipro and treating as a UTI. Anyone have any other ideas of this problem? He didn't really seem confident in his diagnosis. My urine hasn't been cloudy at all as it usually is with infections, nor do I have pain when I urinate. I'm worried as my dad passed at 70 with bladder cancer. I'm 29. Any ideas?
