My father-in-law was caught a seemingly common cold two years ago, but also had some heartburn like symptoms at the same time. He was put on one of pills for reflux, Nexium or Protonix. At that time, his lower lip developed a cold sore. The cold lingered a while and he was also put on antibiotics. He had a second course of the Nexium last year as the original problem was never figured out.
I think all the above has ruined his gut and led to the sore. He's tried both conventional and alternative therapies (Valtrex, lysine, mega vit. D, Brevia, etc.) to no avail.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
