coil hell
I have had this thing inside me for 3 years & after finding this site I have just been to my GP with my own concerns.
I too have experienced weight gain that refuses to come of (2.5stone!!) - most of it the weight gain was in the first year of having it put in. I also have had irregular bleeding, cramping, mood swings. depression, anxiety attacks, loss of sex drive & generally not happy. Also bleeding after intercourse - which scared the crap out of me. My GP was great & Im having it taken out next week. My GP agreed that the M Coil was the cause of my weight gain & bleeding after sex. But my GP knows me very well & knows that I have never been over weight or had problems with weight control. This coil has put me in the catagory of being dangerously over weight and I am so glad that I can have mine taken out. My GP also mentioned that alot women whom have this M Coil are in there 40s - I am only 30! I am going back on the pill that I have been on since I was 16 & was fine with that. Will let you know how my removal goes & please go & see your gp if you are unhappy with your coil.
