I have just had my appointment with the gyno to have my coil removed (weight gain, depression, migraines, all the usual stuff).
They had already checked the location of the coil using ultrasound, as the nurse at the local doctors surgery couldn't find the strings.
Since the location was fine, the gyno doctor went ahead to remove it, but couldn't.
This was nearly as bad for pain as when the coil was inserted 15 months ago.
I now have to go and have it removed under general anesthetic. However the original ultrasound showed a cyst on my right ovary(probably functional, but we were playing the wait and see game), so the gyno wants to review the actual ultrasound pictures (not just the notes), before deciding what to do.
Has anyone had the coil removed under a general anesthetic - were you able to go back to work the following day.
