constant period pains

I've had it in now for 6 months and am still bleeding slightely most days and have period pains most days (from morning till mid afternoon only!?). Has anyone else ever had this and does it ever settle. I see my consultant next month and don't know what to ask for as i'm really fed up. I had it put in for endometriosis after having to have my right ovary removed. I'm 40. Thanks
