Dear fans of other teams in the NL, . . If it was only Phillies fans voting, than all of our players would be leading in voting. Also on a side note, Chase Utley is the best second basemen in the NL, he's just in a bad slump. Ever since he came up to the bigs he established himself as the best second basemen in baseball, what has Prado accomplished?. . P.S. There is 15 other fan bases in the NL, maybe they should start voting if they don't like the outcomes.. . Oh and one last thing, this year the NL has MUCH better pitching than the AL, so it should be easier to win.. . Edit : He IS the best, he started the year off hot but has been slumping lately, does that not make him the best? Has he not proved throughout his career that he is a consistent hitter who can hit for average and power? What have the guys on your list accomplished, and do any of them have better career numbers than him? NO. He is the best second baseman in baseball, like you said : numbers don't lie.. . He's having a bad slump, I don't think it's a good idea to put a slumping player into the All Star Game, but I do think it's a good idea to put a proven player who's slumping into the All Star Game and have confidence in him that he will turn it around when the ASG comes around. There's a reason it's called a "slump".. . . Freddy Sanchez, has 0 homers this year and only 14 RBI'S. Average isn't everything. Brandon Philips has less homers and RBI'S than Utley as well. Christian Guzman has 0 homers and 18 RBI'S, Jeff Keppinger has 1 homer and 22 RBI'S. All those guys you put up there, only have a better average than him. He destroys them in RBI'S and homers. Kelly Johnson is the only one deserving. . . Not to mention that he has more walks than most of the guys up there, more stolen bases, and less strikeouts. I think he was for real. If he wasn't he would have had a real bad second half...but he didn't. Just a late bloomer and a solid player for the Marlins. Not bad for a Rule 5 guy.. .
