Global College of Natural Medicine

I fully agree with perpetualstudent. The school should be an AANMC-member school, and accredited by an official accrediting body. The official accrediting body for naturopathic medical (ND) schools, as recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education (ED), is the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). You can find CNME listed under the accredited programs on ED's web site: http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/accreditation_pg8.htm l#nnm

ANMAB, which you referenced above, is not recognized federally, and would therefore be considered an "unrecognized accrediting agency." You can read the ED viewpoint here:
http://www.ed.gov/students/prep/college/diplomamills/ accreditation.html#unrecognized

You can view a listing of the CNME- accredited ND programs posted here:
http://www.cnme.org/links.html
(CNME does not recognize Global College of N.M., Trinity, Clayton, or any of the distance learning programs.)

We've also addressed this question directly in a past AANMC e-newsletter issue. If you want some more background information, you can view the archived response here. See:
Q: What about online degree programs?

Then follow the series of links starting with "Selecting an ND School" to learn more.

Hope this is of some help to you,
