My som is nearly 8 months and started teething about a month ago. We were out of town over Christmas and didn't have the necklce with us. I wish we had! When we got home and put it on him, the redness in his cheeks was gone by the next day, her was sleeping better, eating better, and in an all round better mood. (He was back to his usual self). I have no doubt that this product works. (ours is from Avellana). He wears it all day every day. I take it off at bath time just so it dosn't get wet but I don't konw if that matters or not. It has not irritated him or bothered him as far as I can tell. I'm sure the company would answer your question of how long effects of the wood are suposed to last.... but for the cost of the necklace vs. the benifits, I would buy as many as he needed to to get through the teething stage!!
