How long are you suppose to bleed after removal of Mirena

I had my Mirena inserted Sept 04 after having my 3rd baby in July of 04 we are wanting to try to get preggo again and just had the IUD removed 1/10/06, I was under the assumption that it wouldn't hurt removing it and was I wrong it felt like my dr. dropped it open inside me and drag it out like a hook. I spotted that day was fine the day after and since 1/12/06 have been bleeding heavy and clotting, called they said it was normal, but for how long? I was expecting if it was normal to have stop now it's the 15th so should I call on Tuesday if I don't stop? It's moslty like a heavy period, and no cramping just tried I guess to me having a perion Jan 1 and than now losing blood. Is it still possible to get pregnant soon after having this removed? And after reading some of your post it's just got me scared. Thanks for any input.
