NCNM has a reputation for being the most 'new age' and 'out there' naturopathic school. They have a Chinese medicine program that focuses heavily on energy work. There are a number of students that get into very 'new age' concepts such as AK and muscle testing, energy healing, ect. However, there are also a number of more straight-laced students who prefer to do things according to evidence and lab-testing. The clinic setting at NCNM is very chaotic, and students are basically allowed to practice whatever they want on the people coming into the clinic. For example, there is a group of students who practices AK and uses it in the clinic even though it wasn't taught at NCNM.
