mirena and cystitis

I have had the mirena coil in for about 2 years and although i have always suffered from cystitis, since having the coil i have had so many infections i was sent to have an investigation and told by the specialist its the coil have it removed, i went to my doctor who has told me it is nothing to do with the coil and would be crazy to have it removed. I would be very interested if anybody else has suffered from cystitis since having the coil.
