mirena - bleeding post removal

Hi all...
I had the Mirena in for just over 3 years and to be honest didnt really experience any side effects, other than some mild-moderate cramping. I had it removed 3 days ago, and on the recommendation of my dr started on the pill a couple of weeks before to ensure contraceptive peace of mind! My Dr told me that the removal went well and that I should not experience any bleeding until my next period. However, 3 days later after no problems the first two days I am experiencing what seems to be a period, despite the fact I am only halfway through taking the active contraceptive pills!

Do I need to go back to the Dr? Is this normal? (I am slightly freaking out!)
I would just call her but I have to wait for the weekend to be over!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....
