mirena/bloating/clotting
I had my mirena put in 2 months ago after 6 years on the Paragard. Only reason I changed was because I had heavier/longer periods on the Paragard. Since having the Mirena put in I have had bloating, painful, heavy breasts, slight weight gain, continual spotting and bleeding since insertion, and hot flashes. Am having it removed tomorrow. Has anyone had problems with clotting> I had a superficial thrombosis after my son was born 6 years ago. Resulted in the removal of both saphenous veins in my legs. My ob assured me that the progesterone released with Mirena was local, but am now also concerned about blood clots since I have had all these other symptoms. I am planning on having the Paragard put in again, since longer, heavier periods are better than what I am experiencing now.
