Hi all! I just want to tell you all how badly I fell for the lies about Marina. I have had this device in for over 5 years and experienced many of the problems listed by other women on this thread. I never imagined that my weight gain was anything other than age related even though after a couple of months of having the coil in I asked if it could be causing weight gain. Of course I was told no, the dose was too low and localised. I also suffered palpatations which I now feel sure is associated with the high blood pressure I have since developed and which I believe was all brought about by this coil. Along with the high blood pressure, I have also suffered with dry eye (a little known side effect I think) and migranes - even though I had never experienced one before. I am now convinced that the effects of this coil build up, as over time I have developed more and more of the side effects that others complain of.
This problem seriously needs to be dealt with as I am beginning to appreciate just how serious this meddling with our hormones is to our long term health. The hormone (which I gather is synthetic) used in the merina is still too new to know what the long term implications may be!
