ND and MD

It's certainly possible to pursue both the medical and naturopathic degrees. This is usually done sequentially, rather than simultaniously. One caveat, though. While the ND schools will accept credit from allopathic medical schools, med schools generally won't accept credits from the naturopathic schools. So, it's worthwhile to do medical school first. Thus far, students have NOT been able to take the USMLE or get a resdency with a degree from a naturopathic school.

Some people have mentioned offshore med schools. This is certainly a viable alternative to US schools. But make sure that the school is listed in the WHO directory. Many students have found impossible to get US residencies with degrees from overseas med schools (especially schools in Africa) not accredited by WHO.

Finally, which ND program is best depends on you. They each have a different orientation ranging from "traditional naturopathy" (NCNM) to integrative medicine (SCNM) to New Agey/Pseudoscientific (Bastyr). If you plan to practice in AZ, SCNM is your best choice for licensing purposes.
