ND clinical training

I agree, clinical education is THE most important part of your training. There was a lot of dissatisfaction with the clinical program when I was student at Bastyr. The patiant census in the clinic was small and the pathology not really varied. Many of the patients in clinic were generally healthy underclass students who had to serve as patients as a class requirement. Much time was spent sitting around reading our text books or practicing H & PE's on other clinical students.

Some of us managed to do one of our preceptorships with a conventional physician. But, I didn't know anybody who had a hospital based preceptorship.

It was generally felt that NCNM had a much better clinical program than we did. And, I think that Bridgeport's webite says that they get an Emergency Room experience for one of their classes.

I think that if you are really interested in training in one of the medical specialties Osteopathic or conventional medical school would be a better bet. You can still practice from a naturopathic framework.
