The survey is already done. Check NCNM's website for current salary numbers. Amazingly, we all make a decent income. We starve the first five years (especially when insurance doesn't cover us), but make our own hours and have far more control over beepers and interruptions.

I think it's a little rude to set yourself up as a survey taker when you've already made it clear that you don't think N.D.s can make it financially. In the future, it might be better to do some research before you pass judgment. Contact the schools directly, because they periodically do surveys of average salaries.
