conclusion on salaries

There's way too much confusion about salaries on this message board. I keep hearing NDs can make over 200k but the NCNM clearly shows that the avg ND is making about 86k and only taking home 36K!! That's really sad. I want to do this career but if it's true that you bring home less than half you make, I may have to rethink for practical purposes. Anyone have any comments that can make me still want to pursue this career before I dismiss it? Income is my only fear.
