Hair getting finer

I just moved to a new country and my hair was decent thickness, but since being here my hair has gotten finer. It is almost haif of its original thickness. More of it is falling out then normal as well. I was thinking it was the chlorine in the water, because that is how they treat the water here. One day a week the water is almost white coming out of the taps. I filter the water and let it sit on the counter for the chlorine to leave. But Im also thinking its from washing my hair in this water.

I would like to know if this might be the case or of there is other things that could be affecting the fineness of my hair.
