Thank God!!
I have gained close to 50 pounds since getting the Mirena IUD. It sucks! I have always been around a 10 or 12 throughout my adulthood. I gained 20 pounds after having a late miscarriage so I was carrying pregnancy weight plus the extra weight. I started working out and got the Mirena because I thought it would be good to not worry about pregnancy while I tried to lose weight. Boy was I wrong! I thought it curious that I gained 10 pounds in 2 months. Plus I was so pessimistic and weird feeling all the time. My ob said it was not the Mirena so I kept it. Fast forward to now I have gained another 40 pounds! My husband thought I was kidding when I said it was this birth control. I hounded the doctor and I have an appt for 7/3.
Did you guys know it also causing swelling, abdominal bloating and rashes and infections in and around the vagina? That's not so hot for the ol' sex life either, now is it? I don't need a birth control that controls birth by making me so unattractive and crazy I don't want to have sex!
