Absolutely get off those chemical laxatives. We have met many people with similar issues that have resolved this issue naturally.
Have you tried flaxseed? It's important to take it properly for it to work.
Buy the seed (not already processed as an oil or powder). Golden variety is best but brown is fine as well.
Grind it (coffee grinder, blender) for about 5-10 seconds until it turns to a powder.
Take it within 20-30 minutes of grinding. Mix ot with you are eating or drinking. It doesn't matter what you take it with (cereal, yogurt, smoothie, water etc..) but it does matter to take it within 20-30 minutes of grinding and have at least 1 glass of water after your meal since fibre expands and needs help to flush it through.
Take a minimum of 2 tablespoons a day with a maximum of 4 tablespoons a day. If you are not used to fibre start with 1/2 a tablespoon a day and build up slowly to the minimum.
You should notice improvement within days once you build to the correct daily amount (2-4 tablespoons) for your body and diet.

If you are heart medication, speak to your doctor first before taking flaxseed so they can adjust your doseage accordingly. Flaxseed is a natural blood thinner.

Speaking of diet...eat less processed foods and more fruit and vegetables if possible.
It's important to give your body the chance to heal itself. Diet and exercise are important elements in allowing this to happen.
