Hi,
Our oldest daughter had bad eczema as well when she was young. Unfortunately cortisone makes it better in the short term and not the long term.
Here is what we did to control the issue. Other parents we have met have had similar success.
1. You already seem to addressing the internal factors by having your son eat well. But you still need to pay attention to determine if there are any food sensitivities remaining. Reduce dairy intake when he is school age and supplement with other calcium providers such as the vegetable family or try rice milk etc... Now you can replace apple/orange juice/pop with water. Just give juice as a treat from time to time.
2. Externally...dump your chemicals in the house and replace it with natural based laundry detergent and cleaners. ie/ vinegar, tea-tree oil etc..
Get a natural soap and cream based on tea tree oil. Yes, we represent a natural health company (the products worked so well on our family we decided to represent them) that can provide such products if you are interested but you may be able to find similar products in a natural health store.
You should notice significant improvement with these suggestions.
