Hi there, GG. I appreciate your perspectives. I was hoping you might be able to shed some more light on these issues. I am also another prospective student trying to decide whether to go to naturopathic or allopathic school. Naturopathic medicine absolutely appeals to me, and the curriculum seems much more interesting. I see a naturopathic physician for my own health issues, and wouldn't think to take allopathic drugs unless I am either in severe pain or there is no other viable alternative. (I personally espouse organic living and whole foods, so that's my lifestyle. When I was a child I thought I'd be a consumer health advocate.) On one hand, because of my philosophy, I wonder if it makes any sense to do allopathic school when I wouldn't take any of their drugs myself (unless necessary). Spending the next 7 years doing medical school and residency seems tedious when I am always focusing on finding non-toxic alternatives. However, on the other side of things, I would like to do some work internationally and think perhaps allopathic medicine may be more appropriate in the developing world setting. (I would very much appreciate any perspectives on this.)
