The ND/Midwives I talk to say that midwifery tends to take over their practice, crowding out other aspects. If you don't want to go the MD route and are uneasy about naturopathy, you may want to consider becoming a family nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. It's two different certs, but much of the coursework will overlap.
