hypertension/rhematoid arthritis/diverticulosis

I am taking medications for hypertension for last 35 years. I was dignosed with diverticulosis in 2001. Recently I was suffering from hand/toe/knee joint pain and swelling. The doctor first treated me with advil (3 tabs, three times/day). It didn't work. I was then given proxicam. It worked great for the first two weeks then my condition became worse. I was then put on prednisone and referred to an arthritis specialist. He dignosed me with RA. However blood tests did not confirm RA. He also found that my liver had inflammation, probably, the side effect of RA medication. Now he is recommending that I take methotrexate. I am concerned.

I was taking three different piils for hypertension. My internist has stopped two (ziac and sular). I continue taking Benicar). I am looking for a naturopath who could holistically evaluate me for all conditions and recommend a plan of action. Any recommendation?
