I, too, had the bright red blood, very heavy. My doctor said it was not my period (even though mine was due in 3 days) and that I would probably not have another until a month later. I did, exactly a month later. I think the flow is similiar to what happens when you have the Mirena inserted, just your body getting used to the hormone or lack there of.
