future of naturopathic medicine

Hello. It seems like there are many interested prospective naturopathic students here who are trying to decide about going the ND versus MD route. I have been accepted to naturopathic school, but am still trying to make a decision.... should I start this ND school this fall or take another year off to go study for MCATs and start MD school in 1-2 years.

In order to make a decision, I think it is important to also consider the future of naturopathic medicine. When I went to the ND school, they talked a lot about how many people were using CAM. But in the percentages, they used diet, exercise, etc. I don't think is specific to naturopathy, but any good health treatment protocol for patients should include all this.

Then they talked about naturopathic philosophy and how educating the patient (docere), focusing on prevention etc were staples of naturopathic medicine. However, I beg to differ... I don't think this should be principles of naturopathic medicine, but GOOD medicine, whether you are an ND, MD, DO etc.
