Re: Removed Mirena/Copper IUD Inserted

I am having the same procedure done on Friday... Mirena out, Paragard in. I had the Paragard for 18 mos, and decided to switch to Mirena because my periods were awful. They were so heavy that I couldn't leave the house one day each month due to such a heavy flow. Forget super plus tampons! They didn't even help. And sleeping was really gross (TMI). Anyway, the periods were one week long and didn't let up, so I switched. With the Mirena I got awful cystic acne, gained weight, and had mood swings (all in only 2 months!). I would take heavy periods over this anyday. But, I didn't experience any hair loss, so I guess you have to weigh that decision. I am glad that your hair is healthier now!!!
