Acid reflux and tooth decay

I have recently begun to suspect that I have acid reflux, my teeth have been slowly eroding for years. My dentist recommends that I use fluoride, however do to the side effects I have decided not to use that . Right now I am using black walnut on my enamel hardening tooth past in addition to Xylitol mouthwash after every meal. The combination works great but only for a short while then I literally feel my teeth erode, I need something more permanent. I would welcome any help and or information you would give on the subject.
