I am 32 year old mother of 3. I have tried several methods of birth control in my life & never eally had any side effects. My last child was born July 29 & @ my 6 week post partum check up, I had Mirena inserted. At the time I had no problems. 1 month later (almost to the day) I started having heart palpitations. Thinking it may be stress related I gave it 2 days before calling my dr. The 1st thing I asked was could it be the IUD & he replied not likely. So I went in & had some tests done. My blood work yeilded nothing abnormal, no elecrtolyte imbalance as previously suspected. But my ekg stated my left ventricle was responding slow. Now I don't know what that means, but I have go in for an echo to find out. I come from a family with no heart disease & I have had no prior illness. I want to have it removed but I feel likeif I stick it out my body will catch up.
