Mirena IUD - long periods - hair loss - boils

I've had 2 consecutive pregnancies and thought that my hair loss was a normal "after pregnancy thing". Now my youngest is 15 months old and I'm still losing hair. I seen a dermatologist who said I have low feretin (iron) level and said to start taking an iron supplement and Rogain. She also said that since my father had a receding hairline, I probably just inherited it. The ironic this is that when I tried the Depo shot years ago, I also had a lot of hair loss in the same area. Hummm...NOT a coincidence?!?
I have fibroids and my OBGYN thinks that the Mirena is perfect for me and to help me not bleed so much. I don't think having irregular periods for an average of 10 days is good. So now I'm waiting for the next period to start so I can take estrogen for a week to see if it will help decrease the length of the period.
Boils have started in between my buttocks, thighs and my armpits. Both the OBGYN and dermatologist say that it doesn't have anything to do with the IUD but they also say that the IUD isn't causing my hairloss! This site was very helpful. I'm going in for an ultrasound of my fibroids next month and will probably have the Mirena taken out.
