After 1 yr of having it, I had the Mirena IUD removed 36 hours ago and I feel so releived. The removal was a piece of cake! It was quick and painless. My period started last night which might be on cycle (hard to tell since it was so irregular) and I've had the worst cramps ever. I don't know if this is a side effect or the fact I had such severe abdominal pain prior, and now it's a combination, or what?!?!
My OBGYN said that it will take 1 month for my horomones to get back to normal and suggested that I look into taking Encora, which is a prescribed multivitamin. It's main ingredients are calcium, omega fatty acids, and folic acid. Apparently it's suposed to also help with mood swings...which I desperately need help with. Has anyone heard of this?
Here's my bad news...during the ultrasound yesterday, he discovered a large cyst on my ovary and edometriosis. The good news is that my fibroids are still pretty small, but I have to go back in 2 months to have everything looked at and measured again. He also talked about having a hysterectomy.
I truly feel that all of my problems started when I had that stupid IUD put in. I am a train wreck today.
Does anyone have any advice?
