Mirena for flooding/estrogen surges?

Help! I'm in my early 50's. I began flooding, and my OBGYN recommended
the mirena. I have had it since Jan. 07.
After having it 3 months, I put on 10 pounds in about 5 weeks. I cannot seem to lose any weight, and I always could before. Recently my joints (knees, fingers, etc.) have begun to ache and are sore. My sex drive is very low.
Could all of this be due to the Mirena?
Help!
