I have been so mad for not looking into this more thoroughly. My very nice doctor said there shouldn't be any side effects. I keep feeling like well my age is a part of this weight gain (44), my job, step-kids (so no natural children to cause weight), husband and stress, etc. But the scales suddenly went up not gradually. I have had mine about a year and a half. I suddenly was 25 pounds heavier. I am 5'10" so I keep thinking I am carrying it well but now my face is breaking out and rosacea started. Just to scare me further I went to the skin doctor and she gave me an antibiotics that were supposed to help with rosacea and my feet swelled dangerously large so she took me off of those pills but now I realize it has something to do with Mirena. I am not allergic to anything and the antibiotics are very common and I had never reacted to any drugs before. I also never had skin problems. Thank God for this site. Truly it is an answered prayer. Also are there significant other symptoms after the removal? Mood swings? How long does it take to notice weight loss. Thank you all for writing on this site. I am calling Monday for an appt. to get this removed.
