I was wanting to ask about your experience with Mirena. I had one put in on Monday 1/21. It hurt severely to have the thing inserted, which I was not prepared for. I thought it would only cramp, but my Dr. told me after the fact that since it has been 8.5 years since I had a child, that's probably why it hurt so badly. It was still hurting really badly by last Friday 1/25, so I went back the the Dr. They did another ultrasound, told me everything looked normal, gave me a script for stronger lortab, more phenergan, and prescription strength Motrin. They told me to take the Motrin & Lortab around the clock and have bedrest all weekend, since my body was apparently having contractions to rid itself of the foreign body--the IUD. So, I did as they suggested--I wasted my whole weekend drugged up and sleeping. Today is Tuesday, and I do not feel better. There is a pain in my middle that I can only describe as feeling like someone has put a cork opener in my uterus and is twisting it, and my tailbone hurts. I am still bloated, for no reason. SO, I called my OB/Gyn back, and I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow for another "check." I asked the nurse if the Dr could go ahead & remove the IUD tomorrow if I tell him that is what I want, and she said yes. So, my question to you is: does it hurt as badly coming out as it does going in? Should I take a couple of the remaining Lortab before the visit? Do you feel better since having it removed, or do you regret not "waiting it out?"
