Hi, I had my Mirena in for 4 years after my daughter was born. My husband and I wish to have another baby so I had the Mirena removed today. It pinched when it was removed and the doctor "painted my cervix" with some iodine like substance to prevent infection. That burned but the sensation went away about 15 minutes afterwards. I have light bleeding and have to wear a pantyliner. Other than that everything went well. I am just not looking forward to my 'regular periods' since my periods had gotten so light I only had to use pantyliners!
