I've had patients who've opted for the surgery and others who have avoided the surgery.
Clearly something is inflaming the back of his throat. Before we run down the allergic pattern, I am assuming someone did a throat culture to make sure he's not in chronic sinusitis or otitis media land? Any blood work done to make sure he isn't nursing EBV in extended mono?
Locally I do a variety of antiviral treatments with some fair success when allergic treatments aren't touching things. Check for a local doctor, but also have look at my what do I treat page under colds and flus for some tips.
Also, baryta carb 30c, is a classic for those touching tonsils. It will either work or not at all. Please use with your doctor's blessing.
