40 lb weight gain

I have had my Mirena for about 1 1/2 yrs. My Dr. insists that it does not have enough horomone in it to cause any side effects. I sooooo beg to differ!! I have gained around 40 lbs since it's insertion, mostly in my middle. I have never in my life before gained weight there. I had it removed today. I'll post in a few weeks reguarding my weightloss.
