LPR ?

For the past few years I have been having problems with empty swallowing. The closest allopathic disease name I found seems to be LPR (laryngopharyngeal reflux). I have been suffering with symptoms that include post nasal drip, mucus in throat, difficulty empty swallowing, mucus blocking air passages... The only explanation I seem to find is that it is probably related to stomach acid refluxing into throat and causing the mucus. I have a lot of trouble empty swallowing, and always have to be eating or drinking. When I tried PPIs, they caused me throat spasms.
I have been reading articles about alternative treatment for acid reflux, and they mention DGL (licorice) and mastic gum. I am wondering if this would also work for my symptoms, or if is there something else I could take that would address the stomach mucus more specifically? I would appreciate any advice, because this has become a constant battle for me and interferes with my entire life, and no one seems to be able to help me. Thank you.
