I've had the Mirena since last December 2007 and have gained 8 lbs. In addition, bad cramping and bleeding off and on. Along with acne, just made my life miserable. I was on birth control pills for over 9 years and my doctor suggested I try the Merina.
I just had it removed today and I felt so much better immediately after. I still feel cramping but the swelling in my breasts are gone. Hopefully the acne will soon follow. It's not for every woman but it was worth a try.
