I had my Mirena removed Thursday morning...I had it for almost 10 months and gained 10 lbs, felt VERY uncomfortable in my abdomen alllll the time and had mood swings as well! I am an extremely patient person but found that I was having NONE! I have 2 children and it seems I am more aggravated by little things than ever before!!! Just last night I started spotting and when I awoke and went to the bathroom, I started my period (At least I'm thinking that's what it is because I am due now anyway and only last month was the first month it was off) So anyway, it too is bright red with horrible clots and I soaked through 2 super tampons and I have NEVER bled like this before. I think it's just that our bodies are so screwed up with this synthetic hormone. Regardless at this point, I will take this bleeding over all the other side effects I had when it was in.
