I am a fan of starting mild and working up. Remember that the overall purpose is to feel better, not worse. Feeling worse means you are doing too much, too fast.
Start with something as simple as a partial day of fasting or just using vegetable broths. Too many people use detox programs and follow the directions without increasing their awareness of what their body is telling them. Maybe you are capable of being a five day water fasting guru, but maybe a half day juice fast is all your body can really handle. The goal is increased health and awareness, not some body boot camp.
