I can't believe you all have had such a horrible experience with Mirena. I've had it for 5 years now and it's the best thing I ever did. The only reason i stumbled across this site is because I've been having fluttering in my stomach but I'm definitely not pregnant, and i googled the fluttering and came across women who are experiencing this fluttering and also have the Mirena. But other women have IUD's other than Mirena, so I think this "fluttering" feeling, is IUD-related. The mirena iud has been great for me, no worries of getting pregnant for the last 5 years, hardly a period at all, it's been great. I did have acne in the beginning, but that soon ended.
