merena - weight loss

I am in my forties and had the merena coil fitted back in Sept 07, yes it helped ith the blood loss but the other symptoms far outway that problem. I have lost 2 dress sizes, unusual I know as so many of you have described weight gain. I have had various blood tests to try to determin the loss of weight but to no avail. My body temp is constantly raised, like hot flashes but constant day and night, think I am sometimes losing my mind but this could be due to lack of sleep, lots of other symptoms - too many to mention, but you get the picture. I have requested merena be removed but was told to think about it for 2 weeks and then make desision. Going back next week and then hopefully will be merena free!!
