Dear Angel,

Before leaping to labelling, if this is a relatively recent development it is unlikely he has any of the above. As those parents with the above diagnoses know, the situation is usually present within a few years of birth.

That does not mean your son could not benefit from a discussion of supportive alternatives. A few thoughts:

Is he eating breakfast?

Is he eating every few hours throughout the day? Sugar does not count.

How is he sleeping?

Has there been a recent family upheaval or other major stress that would distract him?

If this has been a life long issue, there is still hope. Alterations in intake of different foods and specific supplements can improve his situation. It would be wise to explore your options, perhaps by calling a local licensed naturopathic doctor.
