I had the mirena fitted 8 weeks ago and have bled constantly ever since. Whatever it is supposed to do it has not worked for me! The procedure to fit the coil is VERY painful as anyone who has had it will tell you. You are about to go through enough with the forthcoming surgery. My advice would be to FORGET the mirena. I am having mine removed tomorrow.
