hypoglycemia and blurred vision

Dear Pattecakke,

A simple explanation might be because the sugar is not sufficient to reach the optic nerve. Since the blood suppy for the optic nerve comes up through the vertebral artery (yes and from elsewhere for the purists out there), I would hazard a guess that the situation might be worsened by tight neck muscles and might be improved by relaxation. On the other hand, it now serves as a warning system.

There are numerous things you can do to offset hypoglycemia. My patients call me the nut guy not simply because I am but also because I recommend nuts to anyone with a busy schedule who can't take the time to cook for themselves. A handful of nuts every two hours seems to offset the low sugar. Without knowing your situation I couldn't recommend such a thing, but it might be worth discussing with your local Naturopathic Doctor.

I hope this is helpful.
